Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 7, 2026

Scope

Garyx is self-hosted software that its owner runs on their own computers. There is no cloud service operated by Garyx. This policy describes how the software uses Gmail data when the owner connects an account.

Data accessed and how it is used

Garyx requests the read-only Gmail scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly. It reads email metadata and message bodies to discover new mail matching Gmail search conditions set by the owner and pass it to the owner's own automations. It also lets the owner's agents read specific messages on request. This access does not allow Garyx to send, modify, or delete mail.

Storage

OAuth credentials and event records are stored only in the Garyx data directory on the owner's computer. They are not uploaded to any Garyx server.

Sharing

Gmail data is not sold or used for advertising. Email content is shared only with AI providers configured by the owner, to carry out tasks requested by the owner.

Revoking access

The owner can disconnect Gmail by running garyx gmail disconnect, or revoke access through Google Account permissions.

Google API Limited Use

Garyx's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
